Project Scope: Design Editor for The Voice Newspaper
At The Voice newspaper, I worked closely with the project manager to create compelling visual designs for each issue, from front-page layouts to section covers and feature spreads. My role involved maintaining a cohesive design style across all sections, ensuring consistency and enhancing reader engagement. Through this experience, I developed strong leadership and project management skills while contributing to the visual identity of a respected college publication. I honed my ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing creativity with efficiency.
The Voice NewsPaper Objectives
I aligned the campaign with The Voice's goals by creating a mix of images, text, slogans, and informative content. I made clear outlines for what to share on social media and ensured everything stayed consistent in visuals and text. I also defined the persona The Voice should portray, balancing professionalism and approachability. To improve the campaign, I researched the campus demographics, focusing on interests and preferences, and applied a personal touch to better connect with the target audience.
Social Media Post
I created a social media campaign to increase website traffic and awareness for Issue 4, which I helped produce. I concentrated on Instagram to effectively connect with our audience and enhance visibility for the publication and its latest issue.
website maintenance
I was responsible for posting each issue on the website, ensuring that the digital version reflected the quality and aesthetic of the print edition. My duties also included website maintenance, such as updating plugins, performing regular backups, and writing custom HTML code for layout adjustments. This role allowed me to blend design and technical skills, ensuring a seamless user experience while keeping the site functional and up to date.
